7 Weeks Pregnant (Day 43 to Day 49)

What happens to you?

It’s about time for your first ultrasound. This ultrasound checks whether the pregnancy is endometrial and you can hear your baby’s heart for the first time. This ultrasound also determines the day of conception and the possible due date.  

 

You should stop smoking (if you have not done so already) and consult your doctor before taking any medication.

What happens to your baby?

The upper extremities begin to form. The amniotic sac keeps growing. Placental villi start to develop and fetal blood circulation begins. Its length ranges between 5 and 9 millimeters.
